The True Meaning of Patriotism
The True Meaning of Patriotism
Anyone can be a patriot whether he or she is young or old, military or civilian. Patriotism can be shown many different ways. A patriot to me is someone who loves their country and does good things for that country. One of the ways a person can serve your country is by serving in the military. Service men and women risk their lives every day for their country. Another way to show your patriotism is by getting involved in the local or state or national government. Everyone who is eligible should take part in voting. A true patriot will take pride in America and all things American. A patriot will always show support for our troops our troops, and our flag. A person can send a care package to their father, grandfather, or even someone they don’t even know to show their thanks and appreciation. Another way to show our appreciation is to our flag. We can fly the flag at the appropriate times, say the Pledge of allegiants, place our hand over our heart, and join in singing in the national anthem. A true patriot takes pride in anything or anyone who represents America. Other ways to show patriotism is to buy produce and products that are grown or made in America. Some of the things that I can do as a young teenager are to help out the elderly. The things I would do are carry groceries for them, clean their house, and mow their yard. I could also be a role model to younger children by always respecting the flag of the United States. Another way a young teenager can show love and respect is by learning the history of his or her country. He or she needs to know the role of the founding fathers played in establishing our great country. Everyone needs to be aware of the challenges our country has faced and has overcome over the years. Hopefully, this will help the younger generation to fully appreciate his or her country the way it is. Thus a patriot is one who loves his country, shows respect to his country and is loyal to his country. A patriot can be any size, shape, race, or age as long as he or she takes great pride in America and everything that represents America.
